New Pagan Project. One year and a day. Each Friday The Pagan Project members will be given a letter of the alphabet, with a subject to write about.

My selection for this January 20, 2012 is BLOOD ....

Blood is a controversial magical topic among many neopagans and Wiccas.,blood, called" the River of light," is identified with this whole and is the vehicle that carries the vital energy of the universe through the body in magic, blood is revered and feared was a miraculous power it possesses and confers. Blood is believed to unleash power, sacrificial blood scattered on the earth regenerates the crops, animals, Al and humans are sacrificed in religious and some magical rites. The blood of executed criminals is said to be a powerful protector against disease and bad luck, because of the energy of resentment and Perry. That is released upon execution.

Blood is used to bind those and brotherhood, either by mingling or in signing. Blood oaths are considered invalid, according to lore, devils pacts are always signed in blood.

In folklore, the magical power of witches is a neutralized or destroyed by burning their blood and fire hands. The common European method of executing by burning at the stake or a practice called bloodying. Witches were scored about the breath caught above the mouth and nose and allowed to bleed
sometimes to death.

A few drops of blood of a person used in magical charms and spells, sprinkled in potions and witch bottles or in effigy, is said to give a witch or magician power over that person in the same manner as to the hair and nail clippings.                                              Menstrual Blood ...

Menstrual blood is particularly very potent, and sacred to the Goddess. Menstrual flow is linked to the phase of the moon. The blood of God as, also called wine, milk, meat, and "Wise blood." Appears universally in mythologies, it is drunk for wisdom, fertility, regeneration, and in mortality.

The menstrual blood as a healing charm. The blood of Iris is, symbolized in an drink, convert PBT Ontiveros. According to the wisdom. Read and choose, as menstrual blood was called, confers a long life or immortality.

In it is still the custom among some Orthodox Jews not to shake hands with a woman and never to use the same wash water as a woman for the same reason. In Christianity, menstral blood has been thoroughly scorned and feared.

Early church scholars came to shame womem for their uncleanliness. At various times, up to the late 17th century, menstruating woman were forbidden taking communion or in some cases even to enter a church.

Menstrual blood was believed to spawned demons. Some faction within the Catholic Church continues to believe menstruating women would defile and alter, one reason why they should not be admitted into the priesthood.

In some magical ceremonies menstruating women are barred from participation, because it is believed their flux interferes with the rise of psychic power and the effect activities of spells.

In folk magic, menstrual blood is believed to have been a powerful ingredient in love charms. A few drops of menstrual blood, mixed in a man's meal. Suppose will secure his undying love. Conservatively, menstrual blood, also is using charms took to increase potency.

Living Book ,Hocus Pocus

Hello,

Lets continue on with the second part of our Living Book from Hocus Pocus.

Place a backing on your paper bag fax leather. I used an iron on type. note: glue the clay snake down and stitch the hemp to look like the picture of the living book. Then apply the backing.

colors are your selections, I have given examples of the three selected colors in light medium and dark, some with gold streaks, some with a light senna. A acrylic paint was used, spread on to give texture to the surface.

Now, we need to skip over to the clay part of this project. One of the gals have decided to use clay for the entire book.

I used a clay that you should bake, and instead of the oven, I used an embossing iron and the clay turned into a plastic feeling. I also made the cor nor elements and an eye, made of gold leather, and a glass stone. I am not really pleased with the eye, so I probably will go back to the clay and see what comes up.

The above picture of the stitching that holds the snake down I placed the stitches on before I placed the backing.I used a hemp and carefully went through the paper, If, a hole occurred, I sealed it with a quick drying glue.

The white strip on the left of the snake is a paper embellishment, I thought it looked like a snake

The last is a picture of the head of the snake and the paper bag that when painted looks like leather. The embossing iron burned some of the clay and it looks like a skin, or so I think. (bg)

In a few days I will give a link for the papers found in the living book, They are in red ink and I used a antique paper to print on. But, let me not get ahead of myself.

Work on your clay snakes and the living eye,, if you need to convo me, please do, I will try and help .

I probably did not give good instructions, please forgive me.

I would like to tell about the Noddle's ink contest, you have a year to provide the Noodle's ink company with a design, there logo is a catfish, Use the catfish anyway you like, must use Noodle's ink and ink pens.

The first place has a wonderful selection of all of their pen, plus a pro to type of a precious metal fountain pen.

Hocus Pokus Living Book ...

Hello Friday!

Love this day, I call it French Fry Friday! Wonder why ? I get a surprise for dinner. Hubby brings ...whatever!
No cooking more time in the studio!

Speaking of studio, Have started the Living Book from Hocus Pocus. This is a past paper leather for books.

Could not find this sooo...I have
to start again. This way you can track the progress from a paper bag, Kraft paper and make your own living book, I have several people who are beginning this book with me, so ready...steady...go... First decide what size your book will be. I wanted an 8.5 x 11 as the inside of this book has sheets that size, I will give the URL later when we are ready for the pages.

Select the size paper, Kraft paper or paper bag the size of your book. I selected some paper that came in a package as a stuffing. Large brown paper. Then take any craft paint and cover the brown paper, I used several color paints and did two paper covers, in case one was darker than the other.

This is a finished cover, I took paints and covered the entire Use any colors that take a fancy. I waited till it was almost dry and crinkled it .

This is the finished paper bag,

To stabilize the paper I selected some Davy boards, any stiff card board will also due.

Wrap the finished paper to start you cover for your book. Leave enough for the signatures (inside papers).

Select an inside decorative paper to cover the outside paper,

Decorative paper...looks just like the paper bag I just did..

Above I selected a sheet of decorative paper to line the inside of the raw edges, also I keep papers that have been grungy up, treated with color and I have been spritzing the papers with a cedar oil and lavender, as tea and coffee tend in time to draw book mites, the cedar oil repeals all little critters and the lavender or any other perfume give the papers a delightful scent. The above shows the papers and the decorative paper.

I will stop for now, as I wanted to collect some clay and work it to a pliable stage. As I will be making the embellishments for the cover, I still am thinking of the stitches, what to use, a heavy linen waxed thread or ????.

Hocus Pocus

Just not Halloween without a mention of Hocus Pocus 1993 film that featured Bette Midler ... and Binks the Cat!

Also the famous living

book..

I was surfing the net to find the words to the song" I'll put a spell on you and found a group on line that

have started a project to recreate the "Hocus Pocus Book of Spells"

Well, this was a great idea. I have made all types of books, and their bindings. Embroidered Medieval Covers. French Spines ....why not a Living Book.

I researched the pages and found around 50 of them,'
captured a picture of a Living Book from an on line Book of Spells.

And now to gather the materials for the cover .... several years ago I produced a leather like cover from a paper bag, It truly looked like leather. If, I run across the picture I will post it, and have a ton of clay, tons of inks and paints...so I am on a quest.

If, any of you are interested in joining me, please do. We can share our progress and mistakes...

Featured on Esty to night will be a smaller ribbon for BOS and has a charm , not a very good picture.

Lupus Butterfly

Tree of Seasons Alter Cloth

Hello! Welcome Back!

Today I am displaying a 3D butterfly, I listed this on my Etsy shop and it is a very special butterfly to all that have a loved one or self, as the month of October is Lupus awareness month.

So, this purple butterfly has been made and selected as an item that when purchased the money will be turned in to the Lupus Foundation.

Most of you who have a loved one or perhaps you suffer from a disease that is little known and each and every person suffers differently. At times the suffering goes into remission and you can live a partial normal life, still the fatigued, the aches and pains.

Lupus affects your own body's amune system. When a normal person suffers from an ear ache, your amune antibodies rush to heal, with Lupus, the antibodies are so confused that they attack not only the infection but all of the healing antibodies so that instead of healing the organ that was infected as well as the healthy organs are destroyed.

Back in February I suffered an ear infection, several weeks later, my hearing was gone, and the pressure in my left ear was painful, the result of this infection has taken my hearing and even with a tube placed into my ear for drainage, the ear healed but I could hear just after the surgery and now weeks later, I am left again with the inability to hear. Along with a seeping 24 hours a day.

So Lupus attacks were ever your infection is. Each is individual, I was placed on Steroids several months ago which has helped greatly, with one exception ....weight gain, moon face and a blood red rash on my face.

Sounds great? not so bad for an older person but the ones that suffer are the young ones, they are just starting their college and life,

Well, enough of this, Just mentioning that the purple 3d Butterfly has been listed .
If, you know someone who would love this butterfly please tell them.

The second item listed on Etsy this morning is an offering for the Pagan viewer, an alter cloth of the 4 seasons. As the seasons turn just turn the leaves in fro of the alter to match the seasons.

It is a large 20x20 and in a heavy black cotton. It should last your life time and able to hand down to the next generation.

It is priced as a Sale item, and if you mention this blog . I will offer free shipping to you, Just pay the postage and I will return the postage back to you through Pay Pal.

I must mention the herbs that are in my greenhouses as several of e:mail me with questions of availability, all the poison plants are to divided in a week, but will not be available till the spring.

The passionflower in red, purple and white have just been rooted and also available in the spring,

Where does the time go?

Hello!
I am so glad to be back on line and to chat with you this day. It has not seemed like such a long time but, looking from my last posting, it has been a very long time, Where has the time gone?

I sure have missed you guys, hopefully I will be able to keep my health and add to my blog on a regular basis

I have been finishing up projects that have been left waiting for me. I will have several new fall and Halloween projects available for my Etsy shop in a few days time. Fingers crossed

I also am in the process of finishing the BOS that I have been working on for the last 5 years. I was thinking of the above design but now am rethinking, I do know that the spine of the book will be one of the trims from embroidery wizard JoEllen from our work together on the Medieval ribbons.
This alter cloth is from last year but, I still love it so as it is still hanging around I will post also on the Etsy shop.

When the nights grow shorter and the wind moves through the trees with a gentle hiss of cool, I am back home.
Sure has been a long time.

When I was trying to access the Internet, it has been a hit and a miss.
I have only been on line enough to add a few listing to my Etsy shop, and
fingers crossed that I will be able to continue to keep this blog up and running. Seems like an entire year since I have been able to post.

Not my fault. What I have been doing is listing all of my books in the library.

Mike purchased a scanner for our extensive collection and now, I have been working to get them listed.

The scanner was from Book Collections and boy, this is the greatest little scanner. It is a small handheld about the size of a match book, you can scan an entire shelf of books and it up loads them to your computer by the books ISBN number code, It then scans for the information of the book and the cover of the book that you have scanned.

Amazing, I have been scanning forever! The only feature that I am Never going to look at again is the total cost of the collection, Last I looked, I almost fainted. So, I will Never look at that section again!
I can say, Mike will be a billionaire some day! lol

This past July I turned officially an old lady! However, Medicare has taken its amount and I have to get a doctor to treat me as the post hospital has kicked me out! I collected my bundle of papers called my records this morning and tomorrow I see a new internist.
He is 5 miles from here and well recommended.

I will cut this first post back and looking forward to visiting with you and sharing the adventurers of a senior citizen.

I am also behind in my Amazon Vine reviews, Not that I have not read the books, the advanced proofs...just could not stay on line long enough to get the reviews posted, without then being trashed. Sure hope this connection is much more stable than the last connector.

Leather Book Covers

Hi, Just thought I would jump in and say hello. Some of you have e:mailed me asking if I were still alive...lol
Yep, Only the good die, not the old!

Been busy with the Etsy store and the gardens. Here in Arizona it has been blooming to beat the band.
Lavenders, lilacs, roses about to pop..
Grass grows faster than we can mow.

The fish are enjoying the sun and alas the frog decided to visit heaven.

The leather foto to the left , are new items added to Etsy.
This is a dark leather stitched in metallic threads to replicate the Southwestern tooling designs ...only it is threads.
It is a thin bookbinders leather ready to be made into a journal of framed.
It measures 25X16 plenty of length for a large journal or whatever.

Close up of the stitches in a floral design. I wish my camera was a better one as it does not capture the sparkle and beauty of this design.

This big guy is also a Design stitched on leather,
He measure rs 26 x 10 and can be framed or made into yet another journal.

This is a thread intense design and it stitched out without one thread break!
Amazing.

The St. Patrick's Day fun never grows old!

It has been such a very long time that I have posted, loads of activities that I spoke of in December.
I have had both eyes up graded from blind to
20/20 and 20/30 .. With a need to use reading glasses to thread a needle.

All of my life I have worn glasses and I find myself punching in between my eyes ...looking for glasses.

The one thing that was so wonderful with my new eyes...the colors of the world are ever so clear and bright and beautiful...and...since for years I cold not see ...cob webs up high ...tons of dust every where....my dear hubby said to me ...perhaps you should get your old eyes back and this house keeping is killing me....
It has been such and slow and steady plodding to clean.
After the eyes I started back on the testing for new medicine for the Lupus. It's not so terrible bad if I go slow ....

I have been active with the Etsy Shop and with the Bookbinding Team on Etsy. I have finished a recent swap and the books were so clever. I will be collecting pictures later in the week and posting to you.
Ordering many different papers to test, and will be sharing the results with you regarding the quality and price and location to purchase fine papers.

I am awaiting plates for a Letterpress Machine that is ready for new colors of paints.
Paper Source has a gold and a silver offered as well as a beautiful dark brown speedwell ink.
I am anxious to experiment with the 4X6 letterpress covers for journals.

So you see, I may have not been posting but, I sure have been getting ready for another year of Sierras Creations, Silvery Moonbeams and Bumblebee Lane and the products that will grace the pages of my shop.

In a different line of discussion I have two air brush machines...one for paints and the other is for makeup. When I was in Europe, this was a late craze...as the price of these air brush makeup brushes have come way down .... very affordable to all for home use.
It is a bomb .... you can apply eye shadow and eye liner that is so light you can not tell you are wearing any make up.
I am sure that the use has had this but, I never have been around big cities living in the desert.

I wait for the news regarding Medicare and how it will affect payments and benefits...I am approaching this stage of my life and my prayers tonight are that our lustrous leader will get his mind and efforts on what his people really need...jobs!
No strong armed back street deals the Chicago way.
In a recent movie Eliot Ness ....Shan Connery was telling another that the Chicago way is this....When they send one of ours to the hospital we send 2 of theirs to the morge ....That's the White House Way! Enough of the soap box ....

So, wear your reen, eat your cornbeef and cabbage and think of me who cannot have any green beer again this year ....:(

Everyone out their beating their brains out to shop? Going a little crazed?

Not here in the studio!!

Finished!! Yep, Finished. All done! Great feeling. But, it took me 6 months of preparation! lol

The Kat here has her eyes on the Little Hawk that is above. He comes every year to our garden on his way to visit his granny.

He takes care of all the pigeons and the slower of the Quails. Then he moves on, although every day or so the feathers are everywhere.

By the way the window Kat is looking through is wide open. We have not turned on our heat here in Arizona yet. But, when it does get cold...everyone is freezing! Just thought I would jump in so early in December to

chat, as I have not been very designate to my blog. I have been really busy with several classes for Medieval Botanical Illustration Course studying the flowers, birds and bugs found in the scrips of that time period. I selected to work in watercolors and inks, as I did finish the oils, but find that a more natural look is found in the watercolors.

I have been working hard on a commission of herbal books for a good friend in Europe. I cannot say when I will finish...it's been over a year and I am still in the "B's"...

The first of the year I will be traveling to have a little surgery on my eyes, corrective vision. I want to wait till February but, an awaiting a date from the surgeon.

What are you wishing for this gift season? I cannot tell you what I am wishing for as each day is Christmas for me, I have no children to purchase for only my dear one and myself. So each year we are tied in a knot as to what to surprise each other with. I did look very hard and finally selected the Tessimo Beverage Machine, the new one from Bosh. In a lovely red color. With the pods that have a bar code for the proper selection of teas, Lat ties, all in the one pod.

This past summer I gave Mike a drinks mixer, and boy does that thing make good everything, especially Smoothies, just the right amount of crushed ice. We enjoy coffee and teas so this might be the one gift he would enjoy added drinks with tea and coffe and cream all in one pod. Cool!

I am still working on the one large BOS 17X12 slow going as my hands hurt from the pulling of the book cloth. I did find a little machine that is a wonder for drilling holes, it is from 7 gypsies and called a Bindie, low in cost and works great, just by a punch of a finger it wipes through book boards, metal, tin, leather, fabric. well just about all. Holes are not the problem, the stretching is! lol

Well, I am up late and have another preselected book from Vine that is to be available on January 12th, and it is a great read, You might look for it come January, you can pre-order it now from Amazon, It is called Black Rain, and its theme is the Mayan prediction for 2012! A great read, a novel with a strong

background, the end game will thrill you. Trust me, its good.

Hello! and a very happy Monday to you! Bumblebee Lane has been in a buzz this week.

shot of the faceing that was ironed on the back and on the right side, is the actually painted blend of colors that actually resemble leather! I have lots of paints to play with this project, if my fingers hold out, They look like a drop cloth as my hands are stained. lol

I decided to come out of my hole~ What have I been in to? Cupcakes,Paper bag Journals that look like leather~ (no kidding) . Got a new book on Eclipse that I am finding rewarding and well

lets just start with Cupcakes, in my last entry, I told about a very very large gourmet cupcake that I purchased in Bis bee, Arizona!

Very tasty and loaded with blueberries! I thought ...hum...(thinking) I can do this! So in the next day or so I looked and looked for my Jumbo cup cake pan! Found every other pan in the world but not the jumbo. Well, I went to my very first purchasing place and found a jumbo pan for around $8.00 and no shipping )I am a prime member)

It came in 2 days from my favorite UPS person Pam! And the peanut butter Carmel Jumbo cupcakes were a hit!.

When I went into Tucson yesterday, I always try and hit Jo Ann' Fabric store and found ...

A Texas King Size Cup Cake Pan!! Imagine that! I might jut make a large cake and cut it into! lol

Lots of fun in Tucson and I am always wiped out the next day!

In the post this morning I got a package of fancy papers from Europe! Hopefully by the first of the new year, I will introduce a different line of Journals, I already have introduced them in the European markets and hope by then it settles down so that I can present some on my Etsy shop.

And I did not ... get any papers made from elephant POO! Can you imagine that?

I did get some lovely Lace Papers and a ton of new colors that I have not seen here in the USA, but than again that one horse in our town is pretty busy just with normals items.

Welcome Autumn! ..Good buy to Butterfly!

Welcome Autumn! Been ages since I have written in my blog, and boy have I missed you guys.

I have a new look as well as returning to my blog.

Let me tell you a little of what has been happening. Did you notice the first ..mini pod samples? They are so cute! But, they serve a greater good! Most of you who know me, know I have been a follower of Bear Minerals, years now, even given the makeup as gifts.

I want everyone to be fashion diva's! Well, one day I was surfing and found a lovely site , a gal named Rachael who is the owner and better yet is a makeup mixologist! Up for lots of things, I decided to give it a go, as I noticed that straight away Rachael offered small mini pods to try first before you purchase! Wow! She offers a sample of ALL of the foundations! Around a zillion, unlike Bear Minerals who offers you a limited color....I found the colors of unusual tones, that laterally vanished in my skin tones, from her site.

I have been experiencing what is call a "butterfly" it marks Lupus and it is at times a worry, however, my butterfly went South! Gone, well, not gone but hidden , under her tons of foundation! Amazing!

I was looking through her offerings and found out that the colors of Gothic gals, does not mean that you look like a nut in public (bg).

I wore the colors of a Gothic New Moon but, in the day light in a soft tone that, stopped people to say, You look so much healthier! My body may have not noticed but my sense of well being did.

Next, while working with gemstones this week, I ran across an little ditty that I thought might attract a few ...the gems below are placed together for an amulet for Gemstone Dieters. I make no claim to the healing energies I am only repeating what I found in a Hoodoo book in my research for the ultimate poem for a Victorian Velvet Cloak that I have finished and now the fun begins with the embellishment.

I like this pattern so very much, when I am finished with this commission I am planning one for myself. Ten yards of velvet plus 10 yards of satin to line and make this beauty. The hood is full and a real beauty.

My hubby and I took an opportunity to have a trip to Tucson, In his new car he has a new GPS system....and so we went on our merry way and low and behold this little guy directed us with a voice like an angle. Even when we missed a turn, he told us how to correct the error.

I am still playing with resins for ageing of parchments, and have found that the Dragons Blood resin from Spain's shores give the wash a lovely red bronze tone to the paper, I still have two more resins to work with, so far they all are not that impressive however, the red/bronze tone is a delight. If, any of you happen to read or view the book.movie...The Red Violin will see the rich tone of the Dragon Blood resin on the color of the red violin.

Tree of Tranquality

Where did the month of Juli go?

I know, I know, I have not been to faithful with my blog . I keep thinking I might get an opportunity to post and then the thought has slipped my mind.

Here in Bumblebee's Studio the nights have been much more productive as the days are so very bright and hot, We have been tipping the temperature around 104 degrees.

I have been experimenting with

resins to give my pages a different look and so far the amber resin I like the look and the scent. A picture to the left will show the glaze over the colored artwork.

Have only one small gift bag for my Esty shop. Shown above, unlined and small 4x6 in a cotton fabric with a brilliant poppy embroidered on top.

I have found a design site that would be considered Gothic, as the designs are moonlight scenes and skulls, Here in November the Mexican people celebrate The Day of the Dead, to honor their departed. I always do something for that celebration. This year I am going to do Sugar Skulls.

They are lively colored skulls with roses and the floral beauty of the Mexican art.

Should be interesting, I love to work with the color Red!

New Line of Pouches with Journals

Hell, It's me again. Just a little note to update you, as the summer has been a toil on people here in the desert.
It has been hot!!! 110 degrees.
Inside time, but I have not been
stitching, but painting...and reading.

As always it is my task to hurry along and it shows when I do not proof...

The new line of product is a small journal sized 6x4 unlined, gill ed gold (distressed to look worn) and fabric cover, The cover is a thin black soft cotton with embellishments in gold threads and metallic of a Pansy. A the small journal is placed inside of a book cover, in a matching black cotton pouch, unlined but with the same love and care of the journal designs.
Both items the design wrap around to the front and back.

I will be placing this item this week in the Etsy shop, time permitting. I also have already posted in honor of Harry Potter, a journal with an owl (Owl Post) and a pouch to match this of a peacock logo.
It can be seen already on the Etsy shop.

I have been playing with paper, the making of and find it is an interesting project that I always thought was time involved, however, the new pulps and the method is quick and enjoyable. I am working on the fuzzy look of a parchment paper with the fibers showing in the style of Medieval.
Might show when I alga in have the time available.
Summer sure is a time! You want to be inside creating...but it is so nice in the mornings and evenings I get distracted.

What is real asked the velveteen rabbit? Just one of my all time favorites of children's books.

Most of you know that this past year has been a real adventure with a flock of doctors. Each specialists has the

I have not been my self of late, the blues grabbed me and held tightly.

But, if I take each day as the beginning I realize I can get some of the things done that I took for granted only months ago.

So, with this in mind, I went into the studio and decided if I only get a little done, that's more than yesterday..

I have been reading for Amazon in a program called The Vine Readers Group. You are given a selection each month to decide which book or item you would like to get free and only to write a review....well, most are proofs but, I sure have been entertained with some great reads....I would tell you but it would take the fun out of any are books to come. Some really really good ones....

I also collect glass quill pens, only with a glass pen there is only the crystal points to write with, I love to get them directly from the factory in Italy....cheap!!!

I also, have 4 journals that have been hanging around but, for the life of me I cannot locate the pictures????

June , love is in the air ...

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the world. Here in the desert the evenings and afternoon have been delightful, Waterlilies are in full bloom, Lavender is on its second blooming and all is well.

I have still been in the watercolor mood of late and above is the latest of drawings. A little peek

Below is an item that I just had to try and research, a gal on Esty who is from Salem Ma. has on her sight, the most beautiful charm braclets and an item that I just had to know more about. So
off I went searching ...The item is called A Witches Ladder, now it is used for healing and the beads are in a counting round. Much like the rosary of the catholics. The count is 3,7,9 and she has 21 but, I keep thinking that the count makes more sense if it is 3,7,9, and 13. hum...

The ladder starts with the 3 largest beads and you are to address your request in a prayer form. They you come to a bead with a spacer. Like the rosary or prayer beads, you rest..then you go on to the 7 asking for a healing for a certain loved or or family member, birds, ..whatever you are praying for, then it goes to 9, reinforces the healing till you get to the last say 13, Here you are looking into your minds eye and to visit with the person and see in your mind that person and his or her, illness. The final 13th bead you are to write the name of the request and place it in the little silver box at the end.
From there it goes to the gods and hopefully if your heart is pure and you have a real request and love for this request...it will aid in the healing of the object.
I made this one out of crystals, in white and Green,
In Europe, the rosary is made into a bracelet and is a smaller version of a rosary and is very much like the stations. I have made many of these little bracelets for friends and loved ones.
I started another in a white crystal with a pink and red theme, for the love that surrounds us all but, my hands gave out!
I am still working on my own pages and have a little sneak peak of the henge's and latches of my book...

Here is the Dragon, he is heavy and weighs in around 20 lbs Parchments paper and a delight.I cannot pick it up with one hand, must secure it in both,

Been working on journals, and still working on the charm bracelets, this one is a work in progress....all moonstones, crystals and gemstones, I have to stop so often, I wonder if it will ever be finished.

March Hare Moon ... and things

Greetings to you this fine March .. and

Memorial Day weekend. Here in Arizona it has been up and down from extreme heat to really cold....say cold like 64 degrees....in the desert this is considered cold after a afternoon of 104 degrees. Everything in the garden has been busting out all over, Gardenias are loaded as well as the Lavenders, I am afraid all of you who ask me for the Lemon Verbena and the White Lavender Wands , I went by the list of people and by the date of their requests. All have been sent to you, This year I did not have the entire Verbena bushes, as I harvested in smaller lots,

I will continue on down the list trying to fulfill all of your orders.

Thank You for the orders and if, you do not want to keep waiting, just convo me and I will eliminate your position.

Now, Embroidery machine has also been up and down....as in operable and not so ope ratable! lol I could only do standing laces, and used the initial laces for journals. All are all gone, some where posted on esty and others were on line orders.

My bookbinding has grown in leaps and bounds, all of the items have arrived from my trip home, A binding machine, a sewing frame for books, a press and a ton of leathers. Papers in all colors and weights. I have worked in suede and now in wood and awaiting are the metal clasps that I am learning to forge. I will try and get a blog out of that, but want to wait to show the journals all together. They are not for sale as I have a private collection from the smallest of 1 inch by 1 inch to a rather large tome of 22x17 in a green English leather with a dragon work in leather....Still in progress's...yet to come.
Some of you I have heard from with all your adventures, I love your postings and I am truly sorry that I have not answered all of them, my hands are still playing up and
even if I get up around 4AM it is still around 2 AM I can always find something that I did not do!

Wonce Upon a Time ....so the story goes

Once Upon a Time, how many times in my life time have I heard this, ready, and even said this? It part of of growing up.

This week has been a busy one as I have been still learning and

When I get to the part of the day to actually produce...it's too late and the night owl es will call. This is a soft journal with brown craft papers that I did manage to finish. It is on my Esty store as well as others.
The weather here in Arizona has been up and down, cool and then hot. Today, it is rather nice, a nice Sunday. I had several answers to the picture of the Dragon Eyes, and all but one guessed it right! It's for a work in progress, estimated to be around July when finished.

I feel terrible about leaving Mr. Happy in the larch, and he is really left out, the lst post was to tell of the pending marriage of a Mrs. Happy for my Mr. Happy, however, the intended was already married, She was married 7 years ago in Bali, so already married, broke my Mr. Happy's heart. So sad news on the wedding front. Several books came in this week, from Dover, Medieval Herbs and Several books on Illustrations of the Medieval.. all a tool of learning, I will post a few of the pages

but, not this week.

Hope all of you have been enjoying Spring and all the activity of nature, I have three blooms on my Myers Lemon trees, the Lemon Verbena has started, and in bloom are the lilac bushes and the roses on the arbor. Picture's to follow later...

Medeival Parchment Pages

Hello, Monday ... Spent the weekend not with my embroidery machines or leathers but with parchment papers and frames from the Medieval period. When on Holiday I purchased many colors of parchment papers and I have been busy digitizing the

designs in embroidery. This is some practice frames that I decided to place on my esty shop as they are ready to put into your Book of Shadows or Books of Prayers.

The parchment paper is ivory and the frame has been fixed with a spay that keeps the work water resistant.

Butterfly's and moths are inter twined through the frame of leaves.

This frame is a muted gold with a delicate vine and leaves. This is a replica of one of the pages from Elizabeth's book of prayers.

This one I think is a favorite as it is colorful with a deep royal blue and golds. This one was made into a trim for one of my leather books.

This is called a Golden Frame and has a much more heavy look than the others from a different period. This also was reproduced in an embroidery design. The page is for sale but the embroidery design is not. This is one that I am keeping for a private project.
In the weeks to come I hope to produce frames and designs for the embroidery machine from one of my favorite radical people, One Aubrey Beardsley the Le Mortie Darthur selected illustrations...King Arther and his Round tables....Knights in shinning armour ... the Romantic period.

I also have an announcemen to make My machine Mr. Happy is to be married to Mrs. Happy in several weeks. If, you remember I told of how Mr. Happy was "blue", so I decided to

give him a companion of the nights that I am working with inks and pens, pastels, watercolors. He seems pleased, so I think this is working out for him.

Mystery Guift ????

In the post today I got a delightful surprise! A beautiful book! As I normally order books all the time I did not take the time to open the package straight away. But, when I did I was mystified.

As to the best of my knowledge, I had not ordered this particular book! Was delighted with the cooper leaves and the beauty of the history of over 4,000 miniature tiny treasurers.

In the front of the book, it was endorsed to me by a Secret Admirer! Well, you could have and still knocked me over with a feather!

As it came not from Amazon but packaged with an over seas markings I must admit I cannot think were to begin.

The book is a beautiful book! Chuck full of glorious illustrations

from all periods of history . A stunner.

Who ever sent this book to me, My breath was taken away and I thank you for your delightful gift, But...will you not revile to me

Today has been a rather delightful day as the temperature here is holding around 91 degrees and hopefully, the evening will bring a cool breeze, my studio is chucked full of machines that it is rather hot...an update on Mr. Happy, he may be joined with a Mrs. Happy, I am very close to finalizing the purchase of a second machine. So we might have a weeding soon! How wonderful! Don't you just love a weeding? lol

Enough of this chatter, I am on my way to view Mystery on the PBS station and to finally relax before my sweetie arrives.

This week I am exploring the Readers Journal, as you can see I am in need of a slightly bigger
paper or a much more professional offering....lol

I made a paper journal out of all the testing that I have been doing in regards to the paper, lemon paper, walnut ink paper ....tea staining....coffee....herbal washes.....and on it goes....I am looking for that perfect feel and look for a journal that is near a closure, And I cannot wait to
show you....It will be near to July if all goes well, I am learning metal works for hinges to this tomb....any guesses?

Wearing of the Green ....missed it!How could that be? Each year I always enjoy the wearing of the green and especially the food! This year I totally missed it?

So, what should I do? Have a corn beef and cabbage dinner this weekend? Forget it and wait for next year? So many decisions?

I sure hope you did not miss the fun. The first 3 books in the gallery of pictures show books that are to be used as a Readers Journal. I have pictured my reading paper journals and I am searching for a journal format that I can keep in next years Reading Journal.

This week in the post several of the books that I had ordered arrived. This book is a history of collectors of books. The title of this book refer es to a person who has a "fever" or a junkie journal like myself! The call that person The Gentle Madness ... I got a kick out of this. The reading is an eye opener as to the selections of subjects collected and a history of all the collections and libraries through out the years.

This book is a recent release as of 2008 and is by Heather Weston, a book of bindings, folding and decorative books to create and more. Well displayed with interesting techniques. The two books are keeps to join my ever growing library.

This next project which has been an on going one for several years now, is finally in a close closure.....This is a thin metallic cooper leather, I obtained it from

a leather site that caters to fashions and they have some terrible unusual offers. I love to surf this site and have decided to investigate some of the more unusual offers for the journals that are in progress Slow but sure said the turtle.

Now, this is a test ....Can you tell what it is ? I cannot give you a hint as it would then open the door to the next adventurers on my drawing board. lol

House Mouse and Tiny Pouch

Been a busy week this week? It sure has for me. Still working on my machine,

Mr. Happy is still not Happy.

He is at least out of the hospital were major surgery was

performed by Mr. Mike.

That went well but, now he refuses to pick up the

bobbin thread!

Yuck!!

I did manage one design this past week or so,

it is of a House Mouse, pictured above.

This is a small pouch 7x7 in the shape of a medieval pouch worm by the ladies and gents of the past

It is an embroidered house mouse in gold and bronze metallic thread

on a micro suede red fabric

with a William and Morris inside.

Two lamp work beads of silver hang from each point.

He is on my ESTy sight for a full viewing.

This week the mail man was also good to me, I had ordered parchment papers

from a paper mill in Europe and they have started to arrive.

A beautiful ivory with a brown look of old parchment paper,

gold in color and a regular parchment

along with this I managed to obtain some colored Villium in

a delightful assortment of colors, melon, midnight navy and French blues,

for the header pages of a zillion things I have listed in my little travel journal.

Next, I have been playing on line with a leather shop that puts up bookkeeping leather pelts

starting out at .99 ! Yep, under a dollar.

They are six or seven days out ....and this week alone I managed to be the only bidder of

two lovely mint leathers and a red wine large unit of cafe skin!

I always have such fun with e:bay especially when I win.

Do any of you have any luck with e:bay?

I know we share with each other were they have sales and good deals

both my embroidery groups and the bindery book.

I would like to Thank the gals from Austria for their lovely welcome home gift! It is a

stunner, I love this group!

also the funny person who sent me a black journal! The paper is black as well as all else.

I have not had good luck with the writing instrument, using a white gel pen,

silver was ok, I think I might have to get a fresher one?

Any way, it is interesting as to the binding ... it is a unique, soon as my camera is ready again

Time in a trip!

Time! Time! Where does it go? Let me wish you a very happy 2009! I know, its late....Now it is March 1st! Did I forget time? Misplace time?
Nope! Time was here or there, but the posting were not allowed to go through to the American side of the pond. So, I have been posting away with all the neat finds and the beautiful
buildings and not one of you have been able to enjoy this.
I am back and will just have to pick up where I am now! (bg)
I have been on adventure of materials....parchment papers in weights and colors of the rainbow, threads and needles, leathers and embellishments....I even managed to find a bookbinding machine and a vintage book press.
If, you are wondering what this has to do with embroidery? Absolutely not a thing!
I have been thinking of putting my embroidery machines to a side of the studio that will only be used for embellishments and
not so much for the items that I a known for.
My search this many months have been in the research and discovery of book binding and making of books. I started with the the most tiny of leathers, clasps and binding techniques....

I have always dreamed of this Medieval Book and now, hopefully will be able to produce this dream.
I will be learning different types of bindings in large and small journals. I also have brought back many gemstones and will be using them in my journals and trim es that I have produced and designed while I was away...finding tons of examples in the libraries of Europe.

This is the back of the Steam punk scissor holder. The vintage scissors are on a strong like wire string that when pulled it re tracks.
For fumble fingered people who keep dropping items and have to move furniture to retrieve items before the
Dust Bunnies move in for the kill....
The front of the keeper is a strong face made of clay and has a gold Patna surrounded by vintage brass embellishments, the tiny scissors are also vintage, The item I would say is around 20 years old, but still a delight
to wear around when quilting or embroidery, As when the cutting is needed you just pull the scissors and out they come only to spring back in!

Ahhh...Winter Solstice , the cool of the evening and the bright summer mid day sun. I believe nothing can be better than Arizona this time of year. The rest of the year you can have with its 100 plus temperatures....but come Winter! Now it is just perfect.

The garden is yours! The Lemon Tree that has given me her precious gifts of 10 sweet lemons, the type is Myers!

A delight!!! If, you have never experienced a Myer thin skinned lemon....well, you come on over and have a cuppa with me, but you got to hurry as the 3 shown are the only ones left!

Shown along side of the Myers Lemon tree is a bush of Lemon Verbena, who's leaves and just to brush against her is a sweet and delightful as the skin and meat of the lemon.

The verbena leaves are used in a strong lemon tea. This brush will remain in bloom till the very harsh temperatures arrive, well into the 23 degrees mark, here in the desert we have a little of every number when it comes to highs and lows.

This shown soft journal is made in size 6x10 of speciality paper, designer paper, hard to see the metallic on the paper, and die cut of a shadow dancer, This die cut of the shadow dancer is I believe one of the favorite that I cut to sale on the shop and I use it many times... The inside is a light blue decorative paper left blank for your dreams, schedule or what ever you use your journal for.

The UPS lady was extremely kind to me this week with some of the series of books on bookbinding, three this time, and excellent if your interested in the nuts and bolts of the entire art of bookbinding.

The leather book is the one I am reading at this time, as I still have an entire side of Latago leathers that is a Royal Blue that I purchased for journals back I cannot remember when. lol

The Soft Journal is in the them of Steam Punk, the journal is blank with many speciality pages of fun papers, Paris, Tiger the Tiger and many surprise pages for the Steam punker in you or someone who is still in need of that special gift.

Golden Chameleon Tarot Keeper

Hello,
Today was a training holiday for the US Army, which translates into all husbands that work on Ft. Huachucha Army Post were home! Tomorrow too!
I did manage to get a little done ..(bg) Seems like when hubby is home all I do is cook...Breakfast ...then lunch....Why does he eat so much?
Oh well, growing boys and all that.

This is what I managed to finish in the studio today, I call this pouch pocket bag, The Golden Chameleon, made of Mink Golden threads, lots of bling with Swarovgski crystals and a big old organza rose with ...what else a bee!
I love those little guys!

The Thanksgiving season is nearing and I always am saddened around this date. I lost my father on Thanksgiving Night in 1982, all these years and I am just getting to where I can fix and even eat a dinner. I am much better, but it still is a little pain in my heart. If, your lucky enough to still have a family to sit around a table , say a little prayer and hug each member like
you have not seen them in years. Someday will come and you will be like me, Just remembering what it was like with a large gathering.
I always have to get this out of my system each year, so if you have heard this tale before, please forgive me, it helps to speak the words, and move along.

I find myself still behind in the studio, but I have high hopes this week...as always lol

November in Arizona

Hello!

Lots of things happening here in Bumblebee Lane Studio. The

cooler weather has inspired me to try and organize this studio..

I did make a little headway, but not it seems like I cannot find anything!

Has this ever happened to you?

This week the U.S. Postal, UPS and Federal Express has been really good to me. Lots of goodies arrived. The first item is .... a X-ACTO paper cutter. No more hurting hands!

Second! I was surfing the net and found a great place for rulers, corner cutters, and well, tools...I ordered this metal ruler

called a Deckle Cutter....Now! I can cheat and cut edges of paper and they look hand torn!

Again, easy on the hands.

This beautiful bloom I picked from my side garden, It it in full bloom in November, Fifteen years ago in Berlin, I broke my elbow and my hubby brought me a flowering plant...a Bulgaria ...so when we arrived in Arizona we planted another, I call this vine "My Broken Arm Vine ".. This year the color is a deeper color....might be due to the plant food? Go figure....

Two new books in the mail .... Art Deco Book bindings The Work of Pierre Legrain, and another bookbinding in a series by Keith A. Smith ... I have been following a blog called My Handmade Books...http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5090862 Her blog is chucked full of great reviews on bookbinding and so far, I have tried to keep up with her. If, interested in bookbinding be sure to visit her shop and it is full of great journals that she has made, and sales.
Also, a really cute item called a Bookmark Notebook, I purchased from another gal on Esty and her shop is just full of clever and cute Paper products...One I love is shown in the picture with the 2 books. Her shop is called Space dog....

Pearles, Silk and Mink Tarot Keeper

Hello and welcome to Wednesday,
Been busy this week, and Halloween has been sneaking up on me, Big plans to finish but realized it just isn't going to happen ..not this week! lol
I did finish an item for Esty and I must say this one brought back very fond memories of times gone buy...The time was in 1984 and I was in Berlin, Germany with my huisband, He was stationed there in the Army, The winters there were bitter, Much more bitter than in France, I had an opportunity to visit Russia when I was teaching
and remember it was the same deep chilling bitter cold, Our first trip to East Berlin, had to be in a group of ten or more with officers and wives as a couple and
a Senior Officer, as MI due to security procusions prohibited, the procedure was to obtain papers when we went through Check Point Charles, later I was to go through Check Point Charlie every Wednesday to the Opera, an intire season was around 5 marks
and at 25 to one, Made this a around $1.00 to visit up close and personal some grand
performaces.
My husband knew of a Jewlery Shop that he wanted to visit and the Major and his wife
were on the route for the fur factory... I ended up with a beautifl Russian stone of Ruby set in a gilded setting and....a mink coat and matching hat...later I learned that this was his bonus that he had just gotten! I still wear the coat, but the hat has seen much better days, I cut the pelts and have enough for several items,
This is a medium brown mink not like the black mink I cut up for the Gucci Tea Cozy.
Remember that ??? We do go a way back if you do!
Anyway, I made the first of the Mink Tarot Bags and in this blog I have shown a picture of my own Mike Tarot bag that a very special student made for me back in 1982,
Her name was Sharon Von Garland, I wonder what ever happend to her, She was an excellant student in math and astrology, The cards and whatever she set her mind too.
I remember many evenings in her "White Room" and her grand piano....I now own a baby grand...not in white but a Cherry Wood and think, What I think is My heart is still in Berlin as a snip of a girl with very fond memories of the bitter cold and the love that I still have around me. I mean my husband! Same one....lol

Well, anyway, I wish your day and evening a happy and to find something from the past that makes you smile.

Leopard, European Trim and A very very busy Saturday

Leopards come to town in the Esty shop with a Grown Up Second in the series of I-Pod Keepers, Large Bag.
The European Trim comes in with the 4th trim from Husky Design and JoEllen and her glorious digitation, and the very very busy Saturday came in around 1PM as my hubby came in and ask me if I could tell him some of the yarns that I need to give-up, You see I lost my 10,500.00 game of chess to him and instead of our normally charge of $100.00 a game, I told him I would let go of some of my yarns from when I owned a Yarn Shop in France, way back.....get ready for this year....1986! Yep, Large cones for Machine kinning machines, Wools and Shetland Yarns....a mere 15 large plastic containers that have been following us each and every move we made from that day on....I must have paid overage fees each and every time too! I could have and probably still can purchase an even large store front !!!
Anyway, I had to close my eyes every other selection to say...ok...You can have...
well, it is now many hours and missed dinner and we still have to get all my lovely yarn up and away.
I will remember the pain and just give up the $100.00 I normally pay at least 2 times a week to him.. You would think that after 35 odd years he would let we win just once!!! I even tried cheating ... not so , lucky dicks!
Well, Anyway, The last picture is of a trim to come by JoEllen and her embroidery machines for next Wednesday, and a new book that I tried for over 4 months to get, each time I thought I had purchased this book, the Bookshop came back saying, that they could not find it, Nope, I thought I had it....sorry we only a have a first edition and no way am I up to yet another at $200.00 a pop!
So, when a small shop in New England told me that they had 30 copies in paperback and half price, I said Yes! Yes and it was through Amazon and no postage! Well, it arrived a few days ago and it was chucked full of Prayer book trimes from the London
Gallery...so Look out Husky Design and JoEllen! Here I come!
Well, that's it for now, I will be up late in the old "Studio" making up for the entire afternoon spent in horrow of yarns that must go ...
I have one more Puffy Stuffy Tea Cozy to finish and one for sale on Esty, but it looks like I might be too late for the Esty, we will see, I need to finish fand stitching and the special travel boxes and bags they come in....so off I go to the Studio to get started and finished!

Tuesday! What 's New?

Bumblebees, Beetles and Me!

Wish I could say that I have finished a bunch of projects . Wish I could say that their are not a ton awaiting.

Wishes , Wishes and more Wishes, Here in Arizona we have been experiencing some glorious temperatures, which mean I spend half day outside, The fish in the medium pond have a bunch of little ones that hatched out due to the still warm water temperature, The large of the Koi in the Main pond must be all girls, no little new Koi.

The water flowers are just about spent, but the roses and Germain's are still hanging on, I look forward to my little Hawk that comes each fall, Cool tempts. for him.

Inside, in the evening after dinner I spend a few hours out of the studio then back in,

I have finished 3 more Tarot Bags, But decided to not place them all at once, I did introduce the Golden Beetle a few days ago, and yesterday I introduced the Large Golden Bee, Both of the new Tarot Bags can be viewed on the Esty Shop: http://Silverymoonbeams.etsy.com

On Wednesday I can not wait to view another trim from Joellen, She has been super quiet this week, I know she has her head down in designs, although I know she likes to garden and in Georgia it is probably cooler also, I have to ask her. But, on Wednesday I get another trim that she has been working on for some journals and spines that await.

Will always post when I get it stitched and presented.

Also, I have taken a search on the blogs and find that another friend Ruth Ann is

ready with her Halloween, and displayed the Halloween Tea Cozy called The Witches Brew, Thank You Ruth Ann for your kind words and picture.

And, speaking of ea cozies ...again this year, Mine went into the post...Will I ever get to keep one for myself? lol

I have been playing around with paper products and have acquired this week some really beautiful designer double sided card stock...to die for so will be speaking of them when finished.

I did complete one Bookmark Notepad....and have already been using it thought the night when details come to me in my sleep and I write them down, no, I am not asleep when I write only the details come to me and then, I write them down, in a little bookmark notebook....Very clever idea, along with a new supply of Moleskin Notebooks that I got in the post yesterday and they are drying on the design book, I have been using a copper ink for a new technique for the covers of Moleskin Journals.

Well, Until Wednesday when the trim will be in and the Moleskin covers have dried and the fish are tired of swimming, I will post again

Like a Merry Go Rounds Ring ...whoever gets the..

$88 Million! What a price to pay but, the story behind this painting is one of hard ship and pain. Of a stealing .

The orginal Painting was by Klimt and in the Jugendstill style .

Klimt was a member of the Vienna Session, a group of artists that broke away from the traditional way of painting. The picture was painted in Vienna and commissioned by Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer. ( The last photo is the orginals painting)
Adele Bloch-Bauer had indicated in her will that it was her wish that the Klimt paints should be donated to the Austrian State Gallery. She died in 1925 from meningitis. When the Nazis took over Austria her widowed husband had to flee to Switzerland. His property including the Klimt paints was confiscated. In his 1845 testament, Bloch-Bauer designated his nephew and nieces, including the inheritors of his estate.

The paintings remain in Austria, the government too position that Adele Bloch Bauer had determined that these pictures were to stay there. After acourt battle in the US and in Austria binding arbitration by the Austrian Maria Altman was rightful owner of this and four other paintings by Klimt. They went to Los Angeles in 2006 before the portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer One was sold to Lauder.

This painting will be the centerpiece in Ronald Lauder's collection for his Neue Galerie in New York. this collection has for years attempted to recover Jewish Owned art. mostly from Germany and Austria, His comment "This is Our Mona Lisa"
Maria Altman's story has been recounted in two documents films, Adele;s Wishes released in 2008 , The subject of the documentary Stealing Klimt, which was released in 2007. The movie also featured interviews with Altmann, others who were closely involved with the story.

Sold for almost $88m in November 2006 at Christie's. The next Tarot Bag to be offered by my studio Bumblebee Lane is not as close in price as the ordinal, and the design was digitized by C. Parks. Her set is called Klimt.
The designs are awesome and I had purchased them ages ago and always cringed at all of the needle changes....

but an incident of last week changed my mind and

on a lazy Saturday evening cranked up my Happy and as always she turned her magic into a finished product. The Tarot Bag measures 8 /4 by 5 small in size but large in detail.

On white velvet with an artists change of colors from the original pinks, purples and silvers created my own "The Kiss".
Lined in gold crushed velvet and a heavy golden cord, crystals in the swirl es of her dress, and a large ring

(like the ones on the Merry go round ...Whoever catches the golden ring ..... Wins!")

There are several bobbles that hang from the large ring .

As always from the Bumblebee Studio all items are normally one of a kind, As this design set from Cathy has many more other Tarot Card Bags with this Theme might be reproduced, depending how one feels.
This Tarot Bag will not be massed produce and truly an artist liberties . Both Cathy and mine. Although, on this one my hubby decided that 2 sets of swirls were needed when I had the design on my computer , as he passed by, What a Guy!

Now, the little items, Have you ever heard of a Bookmark Book? Cute cute cute....I made one late last night and I love them. I took it with me while I read for a line or so and found that it no only kept my place but it was a note pad also! I will have several to list later this week. If, your a reader or a note taker, you will just love this little one.
The second item of interest that is in the works here in Bumblebee Lane is an item called a Linking Journal....this one
I will hold off to make sure I have the technique just right, When it is I think you will love it, especially if your a Journal Junkie!
I was called a Journal Junkie by my Husband! And he should know. I have kept a journal from the time I was around 10 years old and I have everyone.
Later after I retired from the University I started to make my very own speciality journals. The Journal for 2009 is the biggest yet, it has around 7 journals all rolled into one big tomb!
Readers Journal, Design Journal, Daily diary, a journal for a journal...lol I am about ready to bind this but, I wait knowing that as soon as I start, another journal will be wanting to join the mass.

The Holly King and Ivy Queen are just a few of the symbols of a season within the Winter Solstice. This latest Tarot Bag came together as I was selecting fabrics for another project.
The lining is of a crushed velvet with black china silk cording, The balls attached should have been red for the Holly Berries but, hay I must be color blind (bg).

The back is plain of a design and in crushed ivy green.

The embroidery design is a Jacobean with metallic gold and wine colored rayon threads.

Trimes and Tarot Bags

Wednesday! Hump Day ... Trim Day..A great Day!
Hope your Wednesday was full of sun beams and joy.
Finished another Tarot Bag today.
When JoEllen sent me this finished trim this morning, I was ready and waiting for me.
The Tarot Bag is the result of the first test.
The second trim will be in slightly different colors as I used a coppery
tone for the second Tarot Bag.
It is larger than a regular Tarot Bag to fit the Larger Collectors Cards.

This is a close up of the trim, It is a

coppery brown and wine with crystals in wine and topaz. Embroidered on a black velvet low nap
The Lining is of a wine colored crushed velvet. The cord is a single
silk cord with bobbles attached on the one end.

New research for the next Tarot Card will be the cat on the left in a black and white. Russian Alphabet is next and then...well, I do not want to get ahead of myself...so I will hold that thought.

Bumblebee Tarot Bag

Tuesday, September 14, 2008. Today has been an

interesting day to say the least. It is always amazing to me, all the types of people that run into you in any given day. Some people are nice and happy, and some I always feel very sorry for, their world is filled with harsh words and some words that are not even their own.

To those people I say "Get a Life". lol

In the studio to day comes a Jacobean Circle Little Baggie,

This one is a little larger than would be considered

a small little bag, it measures in size 6 x 10, It is embroidered on white velvet fabric with gold metallic threads and the center of the rose you will find a Topaz colored crystal. Three little bees fly around the bag.

This bag would be perfect for your treasurers, Tarot Cards, Jewelry or Keep Sake Items.

Perfect for use as a gift bag.

It is line in a screen print yellow/green heavy weight fabric .

Had a request for a little bag made out of leather..hum .... interesting , have to think on this. I have been using Latigo Leather for Journals, but think that the Latigo would be much to heavy for a little bag. This request needs a little thought behind it, but Thank You for your kind words and will be researching the proper weight of leather to use for this request.

Tomorrow is Wednesday and that means another trim will be unveiled from Husky Design

This one also will be worked with Pearle's, stones, or crystals. This is the third trim in a series of trim that are from the Medieval Period, They are reproductions from trims found on robes and gowns of that time period.

This third of trims comes from the Cathredal , normally, crosses are featured, Celtic Symbolism and in the next trim a variation of this is featured.

JoeEllen is a glorious digitizer as well as artist. Her Face Bags are always a delight to view.

Also, since this is update day, I finally have gotten the hang of Amazons new reading device "The Kindle"

Late last night I finished the book The Last Jihad (A Political Book) by Joe E. Rosenberg interesting reading especially as this is a political year.

Still not sleepy, I went searching on line through the Kindle and found another book called "Sepulchre" by Kate Mosse , set in Paris ...ahh Paris...so in less than a minute I had downloaded it with a one click payment and started reading yet another book.

I have a feeling that this way of purchasing book is on its way to getting me in trouble.

Althought $9.34 sure beats the $25.95 that Borders would have placed on the purchase ticket.

The Kindel was an early gift from my hubby, early what? He did not say.

The evenings are cool and the sky here in the mountains show the stars as bright and clear as diamonds. There is a lot to be said regarding the Southwest, colors, a sky that has not been

cluddered with smog and gases. Where the energies are close to the powers that are.

Fall is in the air here in Arizona, Have my windows wide open and the
the breeze is just wonderful. This last summer season was a hot one, or at least so I hear, I stay inside most of the day so I miss the oven heat of the days.

I purchased this book off line and when it came it was in dreadful shape. So dreadful that I did not even want to take her picture, so I restored the binding and the cover, She had extensive water damage on her, but now she graces my shelves in the Bookbinding section.

The Constant Traveler Journals are finished and in a few days I will be starting the Shakespeare
Journals, All of William Shakespeare Books, Richard III is the first to be made and bound.

Speaking of Research Books, I have a ton of terrific books on Journal Making and the mother of them all would be The Archeology of Medieval Bookbinding.

The Pictorial Bookbinders, finally after weeks of search, A Rare Bookstore in New Hampshire has
a First Addition! And it is on sale for half price! I jumped right on this one.
It comes with its own Embroidered Bag, I have been drafting the Jacobean covers and find that they actually used natural canvas as their fabric of choice, The velvet covers of Queen Elizabeth lasted but not as much as the canvas covers.
This book shows examples of the Illustrated Medieval Embroidery that adorned the fronts and backs and spines of these rare books.
I am duplicating the books in a blank Journal series, This book
takes me into France, and London through pictures of the rare books that remain.
As a natural researcher, and through my love of embroidery, first hand embroidery and later Machine embroidery, I have found an outlet that is pleasurable for a project, no to mention that it is a paying commission! lol

If, you want to check out the Shop Handmade, be very very careful regarding their Gallery!...the first invoice I got was something around $356.00! for one die cut listed around $6.00! After many many e:mails and LARGE TYPE! of frustrations, I got a Web Master that in no time at all corrected the stuck Gallery Charges....When I picked myself back off the floor....same place I fell when the book cost $196.00 (remember) I found that I finally learned the Esty shop and find that their listings are for longer and so we have to wait for a judgement on the newest shop of Handmade.

It's Official! Today is the kick off of the annual
Witches Tea Cozy Tea Cozy! Actually I am late this year....but, catching up! I am inspired....This is last years Witches Brew ...
It went to Tennessee to a true collector. I make 2 for Halloween, One is sold, the other donated. There actually is a witches tea ...
I have not been told where it is this year....but each day I check my posts or e-mails to discover where the "Witches Meet" This years them is from William Shakespeare from Macbeth ...A dark Cave, in the middle, a Cauldron boiling, Thunder, Enter the Three Witches .....this scene appears at the beginning of Act IV, Scene 1 as found in The Globe Illustrated Shakespeare, 1993.
It will be a real challenge for me as last years tea cozy I believe was the best of the best!
I miss this one!
So, I must try very hard to up one.

Tuesday, One of them days that you seem to get absolutely not a thing done .... or I should say done right!
Have to re do just about all the binding stitches I put in, needle twisting and turning....thought I would embroider on the machine .....Nooooooo....Just one of them days. lol
Sure hope your day went better than the start of this week...did I mention that Monday was like this also?
Well, it was! lol
Think its time for a double espresso, and call it a day.

Like my cat! Only difference from this cat and Hamlet (my cat) is that Hamlet's mouth is always open and he is always tripping me...

Still working on the book binders commission, also yesterday I took a walk down memory land, a gal from Berlin, Germany who I meet almost 20 years ago, her hubby had been in the Army with my hubby and we meet each morning to swim, She traveled to Hawaii and a year later I was in Hawaii, we spoke of long ago people who made an impression on us.

Bad Luck followed her to the beautiful islands, her hubby decided to check out of a a long time marriage, she returned to Arizona, her last move before they parted, Luck has stayed with me, after Hawaii my hubby retired in Arizona, to continue his work with the government. I went back in time and realized that there were so many people that you wonder about, so I reached out to Hawaii and one of my favorite people, leaving messages to find and see what has happened in there life.

Funny, how at the end of the times, you remember vividly the

times of long ago and far away.

Well, I digress, enough, back to the studio and like the cat above Hamlet is vocal regarding his dinner.

12 Octavo ..hum sounds like a musical production. Not so ... for the last week I have fallen into a hole just like Alice and the White Rabbit. What You say? I started out several months ago on a commission of embroidered journals that lead me into research in to a time of long ago and knights in armor. I have since that time gone deeper into the research of book binding....Today I happened upon a book offered for the mere amount of $200.00! Well, after I picked myself off the floor..I decided that this was the book for me...
...it took me much deeper than any book so far, French Herringbone, Long stitches....leather, paper, skins from trees...rabbits, all living creatures, goats...lizards and to a web site of designer skins and leathers. Copper and gold infused in the pelts.! Well, my mind has just taken flight! I am on the paper trail, special threads, pasts, on and on...But, there are some really amazing book makers out their..My hats off to the artisans of this craft. This beauty is the real deal of 12 and ferns!

Learning hand embroidery all over again....only with a ton of papers and thread that tear the pages. If, your not careful!
I have been on U-Tube for 2 days now....40 videos of bookbinding...and some really cute videos
Looking at all the glorious journals that arties make! Can I do this? We will see.

I have learned so much that my brain hurts. I dream at night and fill pages on pages in my dream journal. I keep a small journal under my bed just for moments that you wake up and have a picture in your head of what your next project will be...Only with this project, I am on over drive!
I just wish bookbinding and journal making had captured me earlier in my life, These old hands are having the pain of a life time.
But, I am on a mission ....a mission of the Knights of the Round Table...to find and make that perfect journal..One that you keep for yourself!
Can it be done ? You ask? I am going to try.
I have forsaken my designs in search for designs that can grace the fronts and backs of journals on leathers, suede's, lizards back .... well, I can only hope my door bank account hold out!
I thought I had finally finished with major hobbies....not so ... hopefully I can just make that one journal that is refillable and be done...lol
Anyway, I am full of dreams and just wishing I had a new set of hands.

Darksome Night and Shinning Moon ...

Hello and big waves from Arizona and SilveryMoonbeams. I have been working every day to finish up some of the projects that have been awaiting items, materials to finish. This second journal that is shown is the result of a cleaning session in the studio, I found several of the beautiful hummingbirds from Red Moon Gardens designs, I had introduced the designs while I was testing back in July new metallic threads. This Silvermoon Garden Journal is the result of finding the panels, The first picture is the inside back flap, Showing the hand torn pages and the floral pocket, also showing the bookmark that is attached with a watch ...so you do not spend to much time in dream land.
You can see that distressed ink of the torn pages, The stamped and colored of each page, and the
gold on some of the pages.

The is the inside of the flap, The freestanding lace panel is actually a book front, but heck, I love pockets so had to put a few. The penny also comes with the journal, It can only be spent on the Moon.

This is not the journal that I have been working on so very long. That Journal is an Art Deco style, I am waiting on the Hunter Green Suede to come in and be shipped to me. I love the shade of this green and get an entire bolt of this and a navy, For the longest time the shipper has not been able to obtain this, He tells me it is on its way, but it must be way the Milky Way...

So I wait.

I will not be placing this journal on Esty, if, it does not sale...Well, the rule is it is mine for personal use. I normally prep air a yearly journal , I like a much smaller journal for my personal use but this journal is 6 1/2 X 9 1/2 Still not too large.

Hagithas Tree Goblin Journal

Greetings from Cool and delightful Arizona, been so very beautiful I have not spent much time in the studio, but enjoying the cool rain and the animals that are returning from their holiday. I happen to talk to Baby Bunny who said he is not a baby anymore and would like to be called another name, he did not say what ...but he's back and with an attitude, I hate it when he stops in the Country Club to visit his rich sister!!! What a pain he is at times. Also, Lennie the Lizard is back, his tail still short...but, that's another story. The garden is full of everything in full bloom...Lemons, Limes, Lemon Verbena, St. Johns Wort.and the list goes on and on. everything...The tree is Hagaith's tree in die cut black cardboard...Large and swirley, The holes are due to Hagaith's temper ...she missed the mark and hit the tree...but, she thinks it give the tree a really cool look, especially as it is the garden of an old hag ....

This is the back of the Green Goblin Journal, limited edition and a music theme.
This is the inside to view the torn pages and each left page has a cooper music score running through the page. Seems like the days are also very short to Thanksgiving and then Christmas. But, I believe my very favorite is Halloween, did I mention the candy of Halloween? No!!! oh well, any times you can go out in your normal attire , bang on a strangers door and scream Trick or Treat and then your bag gets fuller and fuller...I remember a time....long ago...not too long ago. lol!

Blank Pages for the Hagithas Journal ...A follow-up ...

She did not start out as Hagithas? Here real identity is on the birth record....Or could this be a daughter?
Tarot Card Page, was she a Tarot Reader???
Now, the rest of the story ....

Several weeks ago the Journal of "How to Burn a Witches House Down" came and went from this blog. I thought no more about it, several days ago in the mail a package turned up and

upon inspection it had a strange odor about it.

I left it in the studio unopened as I was not feeling 100 percent and decided to relax my hands and brain for a few days, though each time I passed the studio a faint odor drifted to my nostril's.

This morning up early and ready to attack my Internet, check for orders, and open recent packages...I opened the package and straight away I knew it was an old burned paper smell

that has been assaulting my nose.

Inside of the little box was a note written to me from at this time unknown. Also, falling out of the envelope was the "match" was was with the journal of How to Burn....Oh No! my thoughts were confirmed when i viewed a rather forlorn account of the owner of the house that was touched. The darkened pages and covers were burned to a crisp, flakes broke off the pages as I started to try and make an identification. The journal was made out of brown paper bags, my heart went out to this person, later I did learn that this is the latest in material to make ones journal....big surprise to me.....

journal was in the making for the new year of 2009? As there are some personal items, like a birth certificate, used collection memories, old theater stubs...well, you know what one sticks in the daily diary.
This was sent to me and as I have already finished my own personal diary for 2009, I wonder if anyone out there in would be interested in Hagithas Journal, I am placing this journal as is condition up for sale to you first then to the Esty shop.

If, your interest in this heart breaking remains of the Hagithas coronal's and to use this diary for your personal diary in the year 2009, well, e:mail me and we can come to some reasonable terms for this item.

Journal Runner

After spending all day yesterday looking out the windows, reading a terrific book...The
ObamaBomination...(every voter should read this book...It is one of the most well documented books I have read in a very long time) ..I decided to do a little creating, You notice I said a little ...(bg). I always loved Journal Runners...You might ask yourself...Just What is A Journal Runner? ..Well, it a ribbon that is used on the front of purchased Journals. The one pictured is a Fairy on a Large golden swirl...embroidered on a black twill ribbon.
You can use this runner on any purchased journal and when the journal is finished, if you still like that runner you can use it, or you can purchase another, They come to you in almost any design or initials, And will be for sale on this blog before they are placed on Esty site.
The standard size for this runner, the design is 3X6, however, the ribbon wraps around the back of the journal giving you a long ribbon for a slim or taller journal.
In the next few days I will be displaying different designs and initials on the black ribbon.
Today my friend Lenard (the lizard) hung around my window again today, he was trying to tell me that he was back and I could watch out the window with him., but I resisted....to the runner.
Yet, another day of rain beginning around 3pm and lasting not too long, but keeping me in the house and away from the garden. Due to the rains, the flowers are just busting out all over, The waterlilies this year are glorious!
The mothers in the neighborhood are counting the days till their little darlings are off to school, and the shelves in our local Wally World are almost empty.
Within weeks we will be into fall and the cooler nights, and a milder day time.
I finally broke down and ordered another embossing heat tool...from Alpha Stamps...
if, you have not visited Alpha Stamps and your into all the latest and greats books and altered arts...this gal carries just about anything you can imagine, and she ships normally on the same day. She does not hike up the postage and stays well within a small profit margin, giving a great price for items and for service.
I love this site. But, then again I love most sites.

Lizard Awaiting the Rains

Only in Arizona, today in Arizona the rains have been moving across the mountains...with a burst of fury. Late late night the rains started and have been off and on all day. Not much can be done with the power off and on , on and off....no computers, machines, tv. fans, a/c ... well you get the picture.
You can read...or stare out the window. Kat and I decided to stare out the doors and window....lol Kat is my Garfield..
I was sitting in front of a black computer just looking at the window and low and behold, in came a small lizard to attach his self to the screen, As most of the screens in the desert are one way types....you can see out but not in, I could see him but, he was un aware that his underbelly was in full view. He stayed attached to the screen for around one hour. Then the rain came down from the mountains again with a fury and he decided to go under cover....I took these shots of Mr. Lizard thinking to myself I was not the only one to just sit and stare.
When the rains dry up again, I will be working....honest...lol!

From Lake shore slips clear voices, sliding cross the morrow surface, and laughter chiming from the deep, the faintest bell of resonance....
Meet the latest of creations from Sierras Creations...Tiny little Merbaby...She is brand new only a few hours old..but, already her attention is alive and awake. This little baby is still developing, like a little tadpole in a few weeks she will be swimming and lea ring to develop her voice.
The above Merbabies are of a different family than the littest merbaby. They sure do sleep a lot!
This tiny Merbaby will be going to a swap from Pin doll Alley. She was delightful to make, but I will not do such a tiny one again, I will go to still a baby but a little more developed.
I have finished the journal but must wait till my camera is charged to take a few foots. Must not rush creativity.
Speaking of Journals, The Burn the Witch House Down Journal is Sold. It is in the post and on its way. I really had a great time with that one!
Might be another for the Halloween Season...who knows with me. The next journal will be for fall, September and to record your thoughts and dreams to come.

We tore Up .....

Well, we tore up paper....we guiled the torn pages with gold and gold paint ....What Next You ask? Last week on e:bay I was again lucky with a superior win. The above 4 Craft Books ..won for the mere sum of $7.99 $4.00 postage and they arrived this morning! Lucky Ducks!
In the Altered #103 On the very last page in a spot that you might miss I spotted this wording....How To Age A Page......I wanted to see what the pro said...after all she has written a book on it!

It stated to brush lemon on the edge of the torn page, get a heat tool...like you use for embossing of stamps...(that's cool too!) and heat till you see the results you want. Boy! was this easy and the look of the pages are far superior than some methods.

Here is shows the brushing of lemon juice and the tarnishing of the paper.

I went a little bit on and found that I had a green walnut ink in a little glass as I am seeing if I can give a page the look of "green" I wish the ink were like an Italian Sage Green .....might try a paint and see if this water mixture in the lemon will work?

I stopped from tidying my studio to play with this technique, well actually I had to tear everything down to find the embossing junk (bg) so decided to tidy it back up along with all the other items pulled down from the walls.

Still not finished with the walls and stuff, I believe this is a never ending story.

Well, off I go to try a new espresso. Hazelnut ...I still have one more can of cool whip and might get enough for a little oz or so...

This is a picture of the instructions that if you follow step by step....you will have a success!

Also in the picture is a butterscotch hard candy....Witches and hags..go goofy over candy...So you will sure to win her over....then in the second pocket, you will find a beautiful Three leaves tea bag. Ask the old hag...Have You ever tasted this tea? It is a speciality of Hogs Wort....3 leaves tea..this is so, a delightful blend and a pretty color.
I bet she will grab the tea bag and run to the fire... Then in pocket number 3 is a small glass bottle of belladonna in a solid form....take this and put it into her tea cup...Not the pot....as then you get it too!
Next.....wait...and this is the really important bits....Do NOT Look in to her eyes....she will be going into a trance before the dirty deed is done....and if you look...then you get caught up in the drift and well....good buy to you .....
Next, the second most important item will be found in the 4th pocket....A Match! I know, I know....so simple. And I really got some glorious answers...especially the one about the mirrors and a beam to capture her energy...but that seemed like a real elaborate thing to consider...So a simple match for the house and you get the old hag too!

Then comes the record of proof.....In the journal that comes with the tag book...which the artwork is hand drawn, painted in watercolors and hand torn and gilded in gold, spider webs that run on each and every page.....gees, that was lots of work!....

A broom/pen with a black ribbon so that when you fly across the pages you have flair!

The back of this journal is also a hand done of a collection of cats....Oh, I forgot to say...Please take care and let out her Kat's....they are almost no knowledge of her affairs....or so they say, I will leave this up to you to decide...Again, do not look into their eyes.

It was a good morning untill .....

Lavender Metallic Card stock! And they sale it by the sheet!!!
What ever happened to a rein of paper.?.I figure at the price of one sheet....a rein of Lavender Metallic card stock would be....$100.00 dollars!! And I was screaming my head off that I had to pay $16.60 on line to a fancy paper store but, I at least got 50 sheets! Wow! paper has hit the roof! I wonder it is sold by the barrel like our oil! I am also wondering ....why am I purchasing paper to cut up when I should be purchasing paper just to sale by the sheet??? But, any way, I broke the bank and
the big sales of the day was...2 sheets of Lavender Metallic Card stock! Thrifty I call it, Cheap is what Mikes calls it.... So, here it is, cut up to make a small pixie...in Lavender Metallic Card stock!
Then, my appointment with the dentist was up next on my day..
talk about breaking the bank! And Delta Dental paid half!!!
Again, life is just moving about me....I need to really get out of the studio more! Don't even ask me what I did when I ordered an espresso to recover from the Lavender paper and the dentist!!! I almost fainted dead away! But, it was delicious, the paper went well and well, I have a beautiful set of clean and sharp fangs!
So, next time I got out...its to Wally World to the paper by the pound for around a pound! Same weight...same color ....and I will stick to my own Italian espresso machine with Cool Whip in the can.

Hanging In Here!

Yep, Just hanging around. Today I was in the studio seemed like for hours. You see, I work a little on this ..let it dry..move on to another stage of another project...I am currently looking
over 12 projects that are working!
That's what is making me so tired! I really am coming to a closure on several...So, I should look on the bright side.
I placed a few more die cuts on the Esty site. And in a day or so the first journal.
It's a short day today. I am looking at the clock on the wall....4:40pm ans it is saying...tic tock...lol Finished for today!

Saturday Afternoon .....just enjoying my cream and espresso....(bg) I started to wonder the possibilities of all the things that
people can to do for the Halloween Season. I have already finished my Christmas in Juli and so now I can start to plan for
the most exciting and fun holiday (for me at least) I adore the mystic moon .... the adventure of the hunt ....so, as I was enjoying the afternoon.....I thought, How Do You Burn A Witches House Down? And just how the heck do you know that those really hateful evil gals are truly witches? We all have them in our lives ... you never really can get rid of
those who never seem to have time for their own business but find really plenty of time to mess with your business...
But, I digress ......Back to the point...How To Burn Down a Witches House....
I am asking you? Do you seem to have any ideas...we got to find them first....then we have to hang around in a tree like a bat? Flying monkeys? Smoke? Throwing Water on them? ( you got to get close in this manner) Do we really want to get that up close and personal?
Not me buddy ....dvd is close enough, but really...While I finish
my cream and espresso ...I am going to give this lots of thoughts...in the mean time if any one out there has a list of witches.....and would share (just for an experiment ...you understand) as when the real time comes I have a few I can look into ....Just How Would We burn down a Witches House...
I do have one really good answer but I thought I would ask any interested party to make suggestions.

What in the World ????

Selection of mounts for tiny rubber stamps .......

Feet! ...and More feet! When a person has more time than money sometimes the results are what is pictured! When I purchase rubber stamps for journals, I always get them unmounted...normally this is not a problem, but of late the really small stamps are flipping in the wind. Here and there....

So, I looked around for any items that could be used for a mount....Pencil tops...worked good! Wax initial ....worked good...but I had a Little box of clay items that were broken or not just right for pin dolls....(I never trash anything) I found some really great mounts....Feet! One of the big toes had been knocked off....so, while I watched the bbc...I took my feet mould

and knocked off a ton of feet!

Nothing fancy, but I did paint the little toes....And as I had a ball of clay left decided they need a little zine!

This tiny stamp I glued to the rubber stamp that you get from Stamps Addictive (also hard candy) great place to get stamps! And candy!!! big grin Who would have though? So, if you are like me, get those rubber stamps un mounted and a pack of clay and a rubber mold and you imagination and creativity will also produce the
perfect mounts.

Also, I would like to mention the first of August is a special date for celebrations.

Wild Woman Brooaches ... If, you love pin dolls ... and love to make them...This new paperback from Sarah Lawrence. Is a cute, cute new addition to inspiration.
I happen to be a member of Pin Doll Alley hosted by Connie, although I am ashamed to say not active in the the last months. But, I have given and got a delightful array of creative items.
Several years ago I participated in a swap of 100 people! I made little lamb pins ...I thought I was lambed out! But, the reward when I opened the package from Australia! That was around 6 years ago...I will have to dig out my box of pins from
all the years of loving pin dolls.
Also, as you can see, My Wishblad is alive and well still...I bet I have gone through a rem of black card stock....but, Have no fear.....I ordered speciality card stock from the Internet and awaiting its arrival...A felt, A metallic and a Parchment....

From Torn Paper to Die Cuts!

Torn Paper edges to Beautiful Swirls ...Frames...If You can wish it I can Create it and Cut it! This is the advertisement for my new die cutter machine. I saw some of these swirls first in Stampers on line ...by the yard and in felt. I thought...hum..nifty! Then, I saw them in a Journeying Store!
Neat!!! I had to have one! And three days later there I was cutting everything in site!

Easy as pie, anything, .... any design that you can draw, capture or digitize...is your for the cuttings. I believe they are called die cuts!
As you can see, I can make them in any color paper, size from 8 1/2 to 39 inches....Over a yard, I have been having lots of luck with my Walnut inks and old papers. I also have not given up on the embroidery covers in embroidery.

I have reopened my shop on Esty. I will give the call Addi when I have actually posted items for your delight. If, You want a certain die cut in a certain size, keep it to your self! lol

Items that are tested and not used In the journals will be sold..come what may...Like the items that are shown ...want the daisy? The butterfly? or the frame. Just e:mail all are $1.50 plus .65 for postage. I will be playing with more intense colors soon as I can hobble to get colored and textured card stock.

Oh! Hobble, yep, fell running across the street! This time it is my knee cap that looks like a fat balloon...also my other hand hurts....I am falling apart here. But, as long as I can turn on my computer there is always items to do.

I am working on a series of Ladies from Alphonse Mucha ...journals and such. Will post when finished.

Old Torn edge Paper Made to Look even older????

Hand Torn? What does this mean? I e:mailed my bested friend, Jo Ellen of Husky Designs. Asking her ...Does Torn Papers mean to hand tear them, each one individually? You see, you can only ask a very good girl friend this type of question. If, you ask your hubby, He always looks at me like...Duh! Torn Papers Would be just that!!! What are you asking???? SO, to spare myself his male logic...I asked Jo Ellen, Her answer was...Duh! Torn Papers are just that...Yep, hand torn individual and Why are you asking this???
The answer Duh ....is much different than the Duh! You get from your hubby! Let's not go there....anyway, As you can see, I am producing torn papers, to be made to look old. But, I said to myself, This paper is really old, if I tear the ends away the beautiful old color is lost....Not so, said an authority in Tim Holt's Altered Arts Distressing Pages...You see you make them look old again with Walnut Inks. Well, I thought, Some where in the Studio, I have an entire collection of inks and powders and pads...Now, where are they...Found Them!!!! So, My next few days will be to take an old paper purchased in East Germany 16 years ago, Tear the edges, taking off the old color and then put back the old color with a Walnut ink! Or tea or whatever....
Now, does this make any sense you anyone? Of course it does. Were artists! We can do whatever and call it art.

52 Gel Pens! What Could You give to a person who does not want for anything! 52 Gel Pens!

The other evening I was complaining to my hubby that it seems like I keep purchasing gel pen

and then when I go to do my little dolls or stamps...the darn things are dry! This afternoon when he came home...He said he wanted to help me fix my need to gel pens!
I have never seen so many in a set! Where does he come up with this "stuff" Every type of gel pen in every color! Well, I am just as happy as if I had good sense!

Also, today was my day to visit the thrift shop on post, I grab all of the spy novels, piano music and chess books I can get my hands on ....

Oh, least not forget that "Big Mama" was delivered to day from Superior Threads! You can see by the photo that it towers over the other little spools of metallic, I am back in the game....Still awaiting a Metallic Black and Pearl and an Apple Green, The company I ordered from was on Holiday so the threads from them will not be shipped till the 15th.

Silver and Gold Jade Green and Browns ...

Small face to gage size was a face lesson from Nat Hanmade, Also, JoEllen of Husky designs will
be producing them on fabric, One of a kind from
Nat's Hamade lessons on faces...If, they look similiar its because we all took the same class.lol
If, you get an opportunity to take any of her classes ...jump to it....They are very intense and
the technique is so unique...The butterflys also in the background are from Addicted to Stamps...It is a roller stamp! What fun!
Metallic in
a colors that are so unlike when I first started to embroider.
Used to be silver or gold....It ran through your machine or more than not....Not!
Not any longer....

Jade Green, Bronze Bold...Gold is 4 tones and more...Blues from Powder to deep royal...Variegated in roses and gold, rose and blue with silver,Pearls of any color ...reds in many tones, silvers now also come in 5 tones and more...black and well, you get my thoughts....
Right after my birthday around the 15Th of Juli I always break the bank and go for a years supply...stabilizers in white, and blacks....small and large...vellum in small and large...needles, bobbins...Oh, I have a wonderful time, and watch my Bank account cry ...lol...I have ordered metallic from anyone that offered ...One spool of 10,000 yards in a gold #07 ....Jade Greens, pearls. Some have gotten to me already...The little masks size 3X3 are for backgrounds...I have been using the tones of metallic to test for larger designs. SO far, I have not found one metallic that my machine does not like.....I have only one color to obtain....in black, Never used a black metallic but, Why would I leave one of the colors still in the net waiting to be used? Nope, I will finish today with the spending and all this week will be testing the threads...
I always like to test threads and color combinations, I come up with some really interesting colors ...especially when blended one color on top of another...Glorious. This rose is a rather large design, I am testing it for a jacket ... I like the rose and its leaves....And this one will be a go for the jacket...Now, I just have to find the jacket pattern...and I will be good to go.'
It's the rainy season here in Arizona, and rains everyday for a little. All of the waterlilies and in bloom, Large as life, My frog is bigger this year...All of the lavenders are gone to the bees, Crape Murdel in full bloom and the evening are a delight to be out side.
I stitch in the early mornings and then garden in the evenings.
Mother Quail was leading her little new ones across the yards to teach them the best places to gather lunch and dinner. People always think that the desert has no life, You have to be hear to see and hear the beauty. In the fall we will again see the small hawks that keep the pigeons on the alert, Also a large blue heron on his way to Mexico always trays to stop for a meal but all the pond owners know when about he will be looking and we cover the ponds or put shinny twirlers around so scare him away...been working...fingers crossed.

Lunar Moon Magic. Number 2 in the Hummers that are being offered on the Red Moon Gardens web site. My camera is on the
blink and does not show the real beauty of the stitches. You got to try this for yourself. You will not be unhappy with the designs. Or the price.

I have combined the designs, as they are just perfect for t his. I have to stop for a week or so, as I am due for
the UPS man to arrive with the next commission from Bumblebee Lane;s Studio.
It is Christmas in Juli for me.
I must start all of my Christmas commissions in July to make sure that they are finished and posted by November.
It takes that long to produce a Puffy Stuffy Tea Cozy.
I really love the designs but, it is always hard when you have to reject
some that are on the wrong color background. But, it all works out in the end. I am just got fingers crossed to me hands holding out. The Journals just about killed my arms and hands. The journals are all bond.. some just awaiting the fabric to finish. Then on to another project for Bumblebee Lane. I always judge the day after my birthday day is next it is Christmas....6 months in my calender.
Let me say a big Thank You for all the friends that sent me cards through the post and the electric Birthday cards that I got, Some made me cry others made my funny bone act up!..But all were a joy to get. Thank You my friends one and all.
